MARBLE FALLS, TX —FiestaJAM on Lake Marble Falls announces its Oct. 20 & 21, 2023 festival lineup and headliner, Los Lonely Boys, the internationally-renowned, Grammy award-winning band from San Angelo, Texas, that Willie once called his favorite band.
FiestaJAM, a 501(c)(3), while bringing awareness to youth music education, seeks to exploit the beauty of the Lake Marble Falls backdrop as it hosts a lineup that includes yet another Grammy award winner, Los Texmaniacs, and as it launches The Kent Finlay Texas Song Search in honor of music icons Kent Finlay and Floyd Tillman. Contestants may enter the song contest using a YouTube video or in person at Southern Sky Music Cafe, Kerrville, Texas. Guidelines and entry forms for both methods are available at fiestajam.org.
The event includes interactive singer-songwriter seminars conducted by Mitch Ballard, BMI Austin, Brandi Warden, Moonkiss Music, Al Priest, former front-of-house sound engineer for Dwight Yoakum and Asleep at the Wheel, and Chad Mauldin, owner of Mauldin Productions, who will professionally track and master the winner of The Kent Finlay Texas Song Search.
Lisa Morales, celebrating the release, She Ought To Be King, and John Arthur Martinez, cofounder of FiestaJAM on Lake Marble Falls, round out the Saturday lineup. The Friday, Oct. 20 roster includes Pauline Reese, the first female to top the Texas radio charts whose recent release features a collaboration with Willie Nelson; Monte Warden, a rare two-time inductee into the Texas Music Hall of Fame, and co-writer (with Bruce Robison) of "Desperately," a number one for George Strait; The Outlaw Firm (featuring John Arthur Martinez, Mike Blakely, and John M. Greenberg); Bernie Nelson, author of numerous country hits including a number one for Confederate Railroad; HalleyAnna Finlay, the talented songwriting daughter of Kent Finlay. Hill Country favorite, The Debbi Walton Band, closes the Friday night festivities.
The Kent Finlay Texas Song Search winner will receive a limited radio campaign orchestrated by Jenni Finlay Promotions and Southern Sky Records. In addition, the winner will receive a custom handmade Hibler guitar by Texas luthier Bryan Hibler, and the winner will have the opportunity to open for Los Lonely Boys on Oct. 21 and perform at the 2024 Gary P. Nunn Music Festival at Southern Sky Music Cafe on Memorial Day Weekend. The winning songwriter will receive the first Tillman, an award in memory of the late Floyd Tillman, Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee, who spent much of his later years in Marble Falls, TX. The one-of-a-kind Tillman Award is the cooperative effort of several Hill Country artists, including brothers Eduardo Rivera-Torres and Ricardo Rivera-Torres, and Randy Rudman, implementing a design by Benini, the internationally renowned artist.
