DEVIN BAIZE

I drove out to Albert Icehouse and Dancehall on a cloudy Wednesday night to see my friend and Canyon Lake-based musician, Devin Baize, play his back porch set at the Icehouse as he's been doing every month for 4 years.

Located on a quiet, hill country road underneath the cover of massive and beautiful trees, Albert's Icehouse makes for a great spot to authentically enjoy live acoustic music.

The bar regulars greeted Devin with a warm welcome, clear that their relationships with him have grown into personal friendships over their time spent at Albert's together. This was further evident to me when the Albert's regulars and bartenders didn't hesitate to start helping Devin move his equipment to the indoor bar once the rain started to come down during his second set.

Devin's shows are always unique, as he cleverly and artistically freestyles lyrics that engage the crowd and makes each show experience completely its own. His combination of humor and skilled lyricism allows him to truly connect with his audience and makes his set a two-way experience with those listening to him.

Devin attributes his "Country Soul" sound to his upbringing in East Texas, with a grandfather who loved playing Motown. "My music has got that kind of groove and soul, with elements of 90s country music."

Devin's most recent single 'Sheriff's Daughter', released on all streaming platforms on July 26th.

Be sure to follow Devin Baize on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on his upcoming live shows.
